Put simply, Biryani is a popular South Asian rice dish where basmati rice is layered and steamed with a meat gravy containing spices and aromatics. Emerging from the royal kitchens of the Mughal Empire, Biryani was initially crafted to satiate the appetites of nobles and kings.

Biryani reflects the cultural fusion that has shaped the history of the Indian subcontinent, and much of the Muslim world. The Mughals, Persians, Arabs, and indigenous Indian communities all contributed to the evolution of the dish and it is for this reason we feel (along with it being a comfort food), makes the dish relatable to so many.

Biryani begins with basmati rice, a slender and fragrant grain that forms the bedrock of the dish. The rice is pre-soaked to ensure a fluffy, separate texture when cooked. The magic happens when this rice is layered with marinated meats or vegetables and then steamed, forming a deeply aromatic and rich flavor.

What truly sets Biryani apart is its complex blend of spices. Cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, and nutmeg join forces to infuse the dish with warmth and depth. The combination of cumin, coriander, and turmeric introduces a mild, earthy flavor, while saffron lends its golden hue and an exquisite aroma.

Biryani has always been associated with celebrations, festivities, and communal gatherings, which, not surprisingly, is how the idea for Biryani Boys was born.

Our Story

Pakistani Dessert

Our story started in dorm rooms and apartments. A group of diverse college aged dudes coming together each year for a pot of steaming hot Pakistani Chicken Biryani.

Every year, my mother would lovingly prepare her mouthwatering biryani for our Friendsgiving’s, and unsurprisingly, it became the highlight every year.

As the tradition continued, the undeniable popularity of my mother’s biryani became a yearly norm. Friends eagerly awaited our annual Friendsgiving potluck, not just for the camaraderie, but also to savor her biryani that had become a much-anticipated tradition.

We’ve always felt a deep longing to share this treasured dish with a wider audience. Driven by this vision, and the passion to honor my mother’s culinary legacy, we set out to bring her famous recipes to the world. We hope you’ll enjoy it just as much as we do.

The Pulao Bowl

Our pulao biryani leverages biryani spices but is cooked like a traditional pulao (without being layered) . This biryani base goes well with any of our available toppings: Malai Chicken, Seekh Kabob, Shredded Chicken, and Beef Nehari (Birria). Served with cilantro cucumber salad and a yogurt sauce. (GF)

The Sindhi Bowl

Originating from the Sindh region of Pakistan. Sindhi Biryani typically features basmati rice, marinated meat (such as chicken or mutton), and a blend of spices, including saffron and garam masala. Choose a Sindhi base and any of our available toppings: Malai Chicken, Seekh Kabob, Shredded Chicken, and Beef Nehari (Birria). Served with cilantro cucumber salad and a yogurt sauce. (GF)

The Vegetarian

VEGETARIANS REJOICE! Our vegetarian biryani features a Sindhi or Pulao Biryani base and topped with Potato Kabobs. Served with cilantro cucumber salad and a yogurt sauce. (V/GF)

Introducing our Halal Chicken Masala Roll: succulent halal chicken marinated in creamy yogurt with a blend of subtle herbs and spices, all wrapped in a warm and flaky flat bread and topped with our special sauces, pickled onions, and tomatoes.

FAN FAVORITE! Inspired by our Indian friends to the East, this roll has tangy and spicy shredded chicken topped with onions and secret seasonings, all on top of a flaky flat bread. If you can handle spice, this ones for you!

The Beef Seek Kabob

Flavorful Gola Masala Roll made from halal ground beef and spices, rolled in a crispy warm flat bread, garnished with our special sauces, pickled onions, and tomatoes.

The Nehari Roll

An innovation on the traditional Pakistani dish, the Nehari roll encases pulled beef (birria) in a flaky warm flatbread. Tastes like Nehari, looks like a wrap! 

The Potato Kabob

Crispy potato kabobs seasoned with aromatic spices, placed inside a warm crispy flat bread, and complemented with mint chutney and pickled onions. (Vegetarian but can be made Vegan upon request!)

Rasmalai Biscoff Cheesecake

This treat features a base made from Biscoff biscuits, layered with a smooth and creamy cheesecake filling infused with the essence of cardamom and saffron and then topped with pieces of soft and spongy Rasmalai, a traditional South Asian dessert. Rasmalai is a type of cheese dumpling that’s soaked in a sweetened flavored milk.  Don’t knock it till ya try it! 

Gulab Jamun Biscoff Cheesecake


This fusion dessert combines the rich, creamy texture of a traditional cheesecake with the indulgent sweetness of Gulab Jamun, a popular South Asian sweet which tastes like a fried milky donut or dumpling. This decadent treat features a Biscoff biscuit crust, a luscious layer of creamy cheesecake filling, and is adorned with Gulab Jamun pieces.
